Creamy Avocado Sauce

Avocado Crema

Avocado sauce is a staple in our house. It’s easy to whip together and uses fresh, whole ingredients. It’s naturally gluten-free, nut-free and can be made dairy-free.

My youngest girl doesn’t like the texture of sliced avocados but she loves dips and sauces. She has come to really enjoy this delicious creamy sauce!

What is Creamy Avocado Sauce?

This recipe is inspired by avocado crema. Our recipe uses avocados and yogurt as an alternative to traditional Mexican crema, which is made with buttermilk and heavy cream. The avocados add brightness, color and flavor.

Making this sauce at home allows us to enjoy the flavors of Mexican style restaurant cuisine

We manage multiple food allergies at home. We love the flavors of restaurant style Mexican cuisine and avocado crema however, it can be challenging to eat out with multiple food allergies. So, we like to make this adapted style sauce at home which reminds us of the flavors of avocado crema.

Here is a recipe for avocado crema that looks delicious!

Making this sauce at home allows my daughter to experience the flavors of Mexican cuisine that she may not otherwise get to try in a restaurant due to her allergies.

What do you serve with this creamy sauce?

We love to serve avocado sauce on top of quesadillas, tacos or fritters. In addition, it tastes great on sweet potato cakes and makes a nice side with Mexican Rice . Our family loves to use it as a dip on a platter with veggies and chips.
